Our Disney Alaskan Voyage!

DISNEY CRUISE LINE ALASKA

Dreaming about cruising by a glacier, rugged up with a cup of hot chocolate in hand, while in the distance Donald duck is shaking his tale feather, this isn’t a dream, its Disney cruse line. My Disney Alaskan cruise.

This year I really wanted to see the beauty of Alaska so what better way then to cruise from Canada through the most popular ports of Alaska with Disney.

To start off our vacation we stayed a few days in Vancouver Canada, but I could hardly wait for our cruise. On the departure day our our 7-night cruise we headed to Canada place early to check in and jump on our ship. We sailed with the Disney wonder which is Disney’s first ship created. Smaller then the Fantasy but with all the same charm.

The ships Décor was stunning of course, which classic elegance meets art deco. Disney character can be spotted subtlety through out and on the grand stair case sits Ariel, my Favourite princess.

This trip we choose an inside stateroom and it was too cute! I loved our room and it was very spacious differing from other companies inside rooms. Disney really delivers with a disneyfied bathroom with bath/ shadow, a double bed, a couch which folds out to a further bed. A TV, fridge and so much storage spaces what more do you need?

LET’S TALK ABOUT ONBOARD ACTIVITIES:
If you have read my previous blog’s you would know that there is so much to do on Disney cruise line where do I start!?
This trip, seeing we were in a group of friends we tried a few different activities to last trip. We tried a few of the bars on board which were super nice to chill and have a glass of wine. We also watched a few variety shows including a magician and a comedian act which were great. But my favourite was the trivia, we did a lot of trivia as a group especially adult trivia and we won a few of them! Leaving proud with our prizes of Disney cruise line hats and lanyards yesss!

ROTATIONAL DINNING FOOD:
I love how Disney has rotational dinning through out your cruise. On the Disney Wonder there are three restaurants, Triton’s, Animator’s palate and Carioca’s, each carrying their own individual theme and foods. If you’re into the really fancy stuff (like me) you would love Palo an adult only restaurant which serves Italian cuisine. A reservation has to be made to dine at this restaurant plus it cost extra but it is so worth it. My husband and I booked on the evening while we passed by the glaciers. It was magical the view we had while sipping on our champagne and dinning like the rich. We also loved the buffet and quick service restaurant’s on board. Pinocchio’s pizzeria, was a great snap stop and I absolutely LOVED the adults cove café which is two stories.

Animators palette; its so much fun to watch your the room come to life in colour as the night goes on.

Our dinner at Palo;

CHARACTER MEET AND GREETS:
We met a lot more characters on this cruise compared to our last. Photos below show our meets with Disney princesses, classic character like Donald, Daisy, Mickey and Minnie. Captain hook, stitch. We even saw harder to find characters like Remy and his brother Emile. Plus we booked a port adventure where we got to mind gold with Donald and Pluto! It was so cute.

DISNEY CAST MEMBERS:
I can not express how phenomenal the service is on DCL. Every cast member does there part to keep you happy and make your cruise a magical experience. what's more they aren't just there to wait on you, you connect with these people and they become special part of your vacation memories. My husband and I were lucky enough to have the pleasure of once again seeing our waiter from our last DC on the Fantasy. It was such a coincidence that she was now on this ship and it was so good to see her again! and whats good about DCL dinning is your waiters rotate with you restaurants to restaurant  so they stay with you your whole cruise, along with your stateroom hostess who are also the same though out.
Something else cool was that our cruise line director on the wonder also an Australian, so it was great talking to him and he told us we were the only four Aussie onboard!

Our stateroom hostess :]

To sum up, There is nothing else like DCL! Our Alaskan trip was so magical and this is just on the ship, I can't wait to talk about off! So keep an eye out for my next blog showing your what we got up to on our port days in Alaska USA.

Until then keep dreaming! ✨
