DISNEYLAND
AT CHRISTMAS TIME!
The time
had come for us to see that Christmas magic at Disney!
The season
was ahead of us and I decided what better way to spend the holiday then staying
at the Disneyland resort is Anaheim California. The original DL has to be my
favourite park around the world and the Disneyland hotel also holds a special
place in my heart. so of course I was off on that long flight from AUS to LAX
to come to this happy place.
What makes
Disney at Christmas so special you ask?
Well let me
name just a few things you can find around the resort during this wonderful
season.
ONE- THE DÉCOR
Disney is
famous for there outstanding décor, and at Christmas time they really amp it
up!
Just walking
down main street you will see lights, ball balls, tinsel and smack right in the
middle you cant miss the GIANT Christmas tree covered head to toe is Christmas spirit!
They even hold a special tree lighting ceremony at night which really makes it
come to life!
Making your
way down main street look straight ahead and before you lies the famous
sleeping beauty castle, decked out in its Christmas finest. You will see fake
snow and lights covering this majestic castle which makes it even more magical
and in the evening when the light come on, that’s a sight not to be missed.
And
downtown Disney doesn’t miss out on the action either, there is even a ice
skating rink! Gotta love that.
TWO- THE
PARADES
Christmas time
parades are so jolly at Disney! They are just so fun seeing all your favourite
characters dressed up in there Christmas costumes! You will also see rain deer
and of course Santa Clause! What’s not to love? There parades will really get
you in the spirit!
THREE- IT
SNOWS!
Yep after
event like special showings of fantasmic and night sky will fill with snow! Fake
snow of course but it really gets you in the feeling of being in the magical
snow, without the freezing cold temperature burrrr.
FOUR- SPECIAL
MERCHANDISE
Christmas celebration
is also about the shopping! So lets not forget the amazing Christmas time only Disney
merchandise you can find in the park and
also at downtown Disney. From mugs to plushes Disney has you covered with some
sort of Christmas design or print which are so cute! I got a little too excited
when I saw what they had to offer. I only wish I had more room in my suitcase!
FIVE- THE
FOOD
Just like
at Halloween time or Easter, special seasonal food is your for the taking (and
eating) at Christmas time. Some of my favourites are the decorated candy
apples, candy canes and cookies! Yum!
SIX- THE
ATTRACTION
The attractions
get a make over too! In the jungle cruise you will find more then just wild
animals roaming, you might see a present or too and It’s a small world holiday is
super fun. But the best has to be the Haunted Mansion Holiday were the original
haunted mansion rise gets taken over by Jack Skellington and the rest of his
Nightmare before Christmas crue.
More Christmas
entertainment include a special fire works show, marching bands and a nightly choir.
So is
Disneyland at Christmas time worth it? YES absolutely! the crowds my be a
little higher but so is the magic and wonder of the park. I feel Disney really
goes big or goes home when it comes to there holiday celebrations and I can’t
wait to experience more of it!
